Reports reaching us has it that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes, EFCC, on Tuesday raided the head office of Heritage Bank situated on Ahmadu Bello way in Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to an insider source who spoke in confidence with this newspaper, the EFCC operatives had earlier raided the bank last week Monday picking up an official, Funmi Taiwo.
We gathered that the operatives later came again on Friday and arrested one Adetola Sanusi (who works at Fincon department of the bank).
Not yet satisfied, the EFCC operatives stormed the bank again on Tuesday (today) and arrested Adewunmi Adeniyi who is the Head of Compliance of the bank.
The source, however, maintained that the EFCC operatives did not state any reason for the arrests and invasion.
When contacted, spokesperson of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren confirms that the organization is currently investigating some issues relating to Heritage bank. “That is all I can say for now” he said.
