An emergency doctor, Elena Duta, has been charged with manslaughter of former Cameroon midfielder Patrick Ekeng.
Ekeng, 26, slumped in the 70th minute in a Romanian league match between Dinamo and Viitorul in May, and died two hours later of suspected heart failure.

Weeks investigation into Ekeng’s death has ended with the emergency medical specialist in the ambulance, which took Ekeng to hospital, Duta, charged with manslaughter.
She was accused of not making no effort to resuscitate the player while he was being rushed to the hospital where he was clinically dead on arrival.
The prosecutors said Ekeng’s autopsy revealed he was suffering from multiple serious heart problems. However, he could have survived, if Duta had made attempt to resuscitate him.
Quoting forensic scientists, they said 95% of people with similar heart problems survive cardiac arrest if defibrillation is administered within 60 seconds.

“She did not evaluate the footballer’s state of health and made no attempt at resuscitation.
“The chances of survival drop by 5.5% with every minute,” prosecutors said.
Ekeng’s sister in an interview said the deceased had complained of tiredness prior to the match.
“He told his best friend he was not able to play.
“He said he was very tired,” Monique Chantal, Ekeng’s elder sister, told BBC Sport.
