Oyo APC denies announcing governorship primary winner

The Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports suggesting that a winner has emerged from its governorship primary election held on Thursday.

The party maintained that no official result has been announced and urged members of the public to disregard the claims circulating on the outcome of the exercise.

Speaking through Olawale Sadare, its spokesman in the state, the APC described the reports as false and misleading.

“There is no official result yet. The claim that a winner has emerged is false and should be disregarded,” Sadare said.

He added that the party was yet to release any formal announcement regarding the outcome of the primary, which had earlier featured 11 screened aspirants.

The clarification comes amid growing tension within the party as stakeholders await the official declaration from the appropriate electoral committee.
