Manchester City might have swept to league victory at a canter but they are not resting on their laurels and are already preparing for next season.
The League winners according to reports are already close to agreeing a deal with a midfielder and hope to finalise all their transfer business before the start of the world cup.
Napoli’s £50 million-rated midfielder Jorginho seems to be the player on their radar and they hope to tie up his signing as soon as possible.
Reports also indicate that the champions are in the market for a forward.
They had initially tried to fill these positions in January with the ill-fated chase for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and the last-ditch attempt for Riyad Mahrez.
They were still able to win the league but will now turn their attentions firmly to trying to get these players.
While Jorginho seems to be the likely player to fill the midfield role, it is unsure who City are targetting for the forward role.
Mbappe has been a name linked with a move with the forward allegedly being ready to be sold by PSG to please Brazilian star Neymar who is said to be unhappy with the French forward and his meteoric rise.
Neymar left Barcelona for PSG with the hopes that he would be the main man, but with injury and the form of Mbappe, Neymar’s arrival seems to have been eclipsed.
With the World Cup starting in June and the transfer window set to shut on the 9th of August this year, City would really have to do their business quickly to avoid any sort of destabilization.
