Kerosene Costliest In Kaduna, Benue, Niger As Average Price Hits N1,340 Per Litre — NBS

This showed that the price on a month-on-month basis surged marginally by 0.83 per cent against the N1,329 it sold for in January 2024.

On a year-on-year basis, the prices rose by 14.23 per cent from N1,173 recorded in February 2023 to N1,340 in February 2024, the NBS said in its just-released Petrol Price Watch for February 2024.

The report on a state profile analysis showed that the highest average price per litre of kerosene in February was recorded in “Kaduna at N1,866, followed by Benue at N1,769 and Niger State at N1,710.

“On the other hand, the lowest price was recorded in Bayelsa at N971.00, followed by Rivers at N1,065 and Kwara State at N1,070,

Subsequently, the NBS in its Diesel Price Watch for February 2024 says the retail price of a litre of diesel rose by 50.20 per cent to to N1,257.06 in February 2024 from N836.91 sold in February 2023

On a month-on-month basis, the price increased by 9.02 per cent from the N1,153.01 per litre sold in January 2024.

The bureau stated also that in state profile analysis, the highest price of diesel in February 2024 was recorded in Akwa Ibom at N1,525 per litre, followed by Gombe at N1,500 per litre and Kwara State at N1,444 per litre.

It stated that the lowest price was recorded in Adamawa at N1,037.50 per litre, followed by Kano at N1,111.43 per litre and Katsina State at N1,125 per litre.

By zonal analysis, the South-South had the highest price of N1,343.09 per litre, while the Southwest recorded the lowest price at N1,164.05 per litre.
