I’m Grateful – Former CEO Of Nigerian Commission, FCCPC, Irukera Reacts To Sacking By Tinubu

Their dismissal was announced in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in which it was stated that the two executive officers were sacked because of the President’s decision to restructure critical agencies in the country.

The sacked Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr. Babatunde Irukera, has reacted to his dismissal from the office, saying that he left behind a strong institutional advocate in the Commission.

it was reported on Monday that President Bola Tinubu approved the dismissal of Irukera and the Director-General/CEO of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Mr Alexander Ayoola Oko.

Their dismissal was announced in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in which it was stated that the two executive officers were sacked because of the President’s decision to restructure critical agencies in the country.

Irukera and Okoh’s dismissal comes just hours after the President suspended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, over widespread anger emanating from an alleged misappropriation of N585 million.

Reacting to his dismissal, Irukera in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said he left behind a strong institutional advocate in the FCCPC and an outstanding team of soldiers who work there daily for the cause of fair markets, adding that Nigerians and consumers deserve a better deal.

He wrote, “Grateful for the opportunity to have served the incredibly vibrant and loyal Nigerian citizens/consumers. They deserve a better deal. I leave behind a strong institutional advocate in the FCCPC and an outstanding team of soldiers who work there daily for the cause of fair markets.”
