How A ‘friend’ Allegedly kidnapped And Killed Female Student After Collecting Ransom

Nigerians have taken to the Social media to call for justice for a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAB)), Christianah Idowu, who was allegedly kidnapped, killed and buried by her “boyfriend”, Adeleye Ayomide, after collecting a ransom from her family.

According to the story which is currently trending on X, Ayomide, a student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, had allegedly kidnapped Idowu who was his friend and later killed and buried her in his family compound in Ikorodu area of Lagos after demanding N3 million ransom from her single mother.

An X user with the handle @adetejumi, who gave an indepth narrative of the scenario, said the young serial killer had also klled his ex-girlfriend in 2018 and his own blood sister in 2020, which his parents were aware of.

‘On the 19th of August, Christianah Idowu a FUNAAB student, was declared missing after failing to reach her place of work or returning home,” @adetejumi wrote.

“Authorities immediately swung into action. Last week, they made tremendous progress, which wasn’t publicized until now.

“Apparently, Christianah was abducted by her friend Adeleye Ayomide on the 19th, he asked for N3million, then reduced it to N1.5M ransom from her family communicating with them through email and phone.

Her family managed to raise N350k that day. He asked them to pay it in cash at the bank into his betting account. They obliged. He asked the family to send their bank statement to his email, to prove that the family really didn’t have the N1.5M to pay him.

“On the 23rd of August, they sent him the bank statement. Then he stopped communicating with them. On 22nd, they paid more money into Christianah’s GTB account which the Olabisi Onabanjo University, murderer transferred into his Wema Bank.

Authorities started tracing the BVN linked to his sports betting account which he used to receive the ransom, but before they could lock the account, the criminal already withdrew N100k.

“Upon investigation, they found his names, his account details. They combed his social media and discovered that he and Chrisianah were friends, they even comment on each others posts.

And the same account number he used to take money from Christianah’s account is the same he has used to beg for giveaways on twitter (@_sekiiiii_ )

“So, operatives hacked his device and started tracking his messages. He had two phones at two different locations. But one was a decoy to fool authorities. But, with the information, Soldiers traced him to his family house in Ikorodu where he was emphatically arrested.

Upon which they double checked his phones to confirm the bet account, bank account, email before taking him into custody. On Tuesday he finally confessed to all the crimes.

“His family knew he had once murdered someone, his cousins were the ones who exposed him secretly to security personnel few days ago. After his parents refused to cooperate. His family also suggested that his ex girlfriend was also abducted in 2018, killed and buried the same way.

“In 2020, his own blood sister was abducted, killed and buried the same way. Extended family have been suspecting him for years until now. He is 23yrs old. So, his first murder was at 17, then 19 and now 23.

Nigerians are demanding Justice because most high profile femicides in Nigeria end up half way and forgotten. For example, the BRT driver who murdered Oluwabamise Ayanwole in 2022 is yet to be punished in 2024. He was meant to appear in court in June, but didn’t, because he fell down in the bathroom.

‘Another talking point was that, he is an ardent follower of Shola and Wizarab, two alpha male life coaches. Somehow tweeps are trying to link them. Because Wizarab was against punishing a 15yr old boy who raped and assaulted a girl with pestle

His full name is ADELEYE AYOMIDE, 200L student of Philosophy at Olabisi Onabanjo University. The operation was a military effort.”
