Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, gave N60m to the families of policemen killed during the #EndSARS protest that rocked the state in October.
At a meeting today, the governor presented a cheque of N10m each to the families of the late ASP Yaro Edward, Insp Ayodeji Erinfolami, Insp Aderibigbe Adegbenro, Insp Samsom Ehibor, Serg Bejide Abiodun and Insp Igoche Cornelius.
Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Gboyega Akosile, made this known on Thursday.
Akosile also said the governor awarded scholarships to the children of the slain cops.
The #EndSARS protest against police brutality and extrajudicial killings turned bloody in October following the alleged shooting of young protesters at the Lekki toll gate by soldiers.
Hoodlums had also hijacked the protest to destroy public and private assets in the state. Many police stations were razed by the hoodlums while some policemen lost their lives in the onslaught.
