The Chairman, All Progressives Congress in Edo, Mr Anselm Ojezua, said President Muhammadu Buhari, would lead the party members to Benin on Tuesday for the governorship campaigns finale.
Ojezua told journalists in Benin on Monday that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and all APC governors would be at the rally, scheduled to take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
The governorship poll in the state will hold on Saturday.
Ojezua said the National Campaign Council for the election headed by Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state was already in Benin to prepare for the rally.
According to him, arrangements have been concluded to ensure that the event is hitch-free.
“All logistics to ensure free movement of the visitors and party supporters across the state have also been perfected. Anytime APC is holding rally, there is always mass mobilisation,” he said.
“Once the people know that the president is coming this time around, our people will be so excited to receive him.”
Ojezua called on the people of the state, irrespective of party affiliation, to come out en masse to welcome the president and his entourage to the state.
Ahead of the event, soldiers and other security operatives have been stationed at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Security operatives were also seen along the major roads leading in and out of the stadium.
