A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr Kennedy  Eyube, has said the 12- month tenure extension given to Chief John Odigie-Oyegun by the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party was for the good of the party and Nigeria.

Eyube, a pro-Buhari campaigner, who spoke yesterday in Warri, Delta State, commended the National Working Committee, NWC, for the decision to extend Oyegun’s tenure with 12 months, adding that it will afford the party the opportunity to win the 2019 general election at all levels.

He said: “This is one good thing that has happened in APC, the 12 months extension for the National Working Committee, States Working Committees, Local Governments and Ward Executive Committees. By this action, the party will be more consolidated to retain power at the national level and even win more states come next  year’s general election.

“What the APC has done was in the interest of not only the party but Nigeria and Nigerians, because a ruling party cannot afford to approach the general election with more disputes and crisis which could be a distraction to the President Muhammadu Buhari’s laudable performance.”
