2019: Kwankwaso announces declaration, vows to address infrastructural deficit

A head of his public declaration on Wednesday for the 2019 presidential election, Senator Rabiu Kwankwanso has vowed to address what he has described as the infrastructural deficit in the country.
A statement announcing the declaration issued by his campaign also frowned at the country’s increasing dependence on foreign loans.
Kwankwanso who governed Kano State in two different spells on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP but defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC in the later days of his last spell recently returned to the PDP.
He is one of about half a dozen persons seeking the presidential ticket of the PDP. A statement by the campaign announcing his intention on Sunday, stated that “it is imperative for us to embark on massive infrastructural turnaround across the country with judicious management of the nation’s resources without necessarily mortgaging the future of the country on excessive foreign loans and its attendant burden, adding that he will eliminate insecurity in all its forms across the country and return Nigeria to the path of prosperity.
The statement further noted his achievements as governor of Kano State to include the popular Free School Feeding Programme and the Free Uniform for Primary Schools, based on his ‘Kwankwasiyya’ ideology, among others.
