Ali-Gombe is currently an associate professor at the institution.
Her appointment followed the United States National Security Agency grant of $1.5m to Louisiana State University.
In a post made via the official Facebook handle of the University of Abuja on Sunday, the institution congratulated Ali-Gombe whom it described as an alumna of the institution.
“Big congratulations to the University of Abuja alumna, Aisha Ali-Gombe, an associate professor of Computer Science & Engineering, who has been selected as the director of the new Cybersecurity Clinic at Louisiana State University, where she lectures. Aisha, who is now a US-based Nigerian professor from Gombe state, was the best-graduating student in the Department of Computer Science in 2004.”
In June 2022, Calvin University School of Health, United States appointed Adejoke Ayoola, a Nigerian-born and trained professor of Nursing as its inaugural dean, citing outstanding feats that stood her out for the job.
The university in an official announcement described her as an accomplished scholar and leader who has made vast contributions to the research of community-based nursing, maternal and infant health.
In December 2022, a Nigerian Professor, Abdulrauf Ambali was appointed by the Malaysian government to conduct a national security index study.
