Seyi Law under fire for mocking Northerners

Seyi Law, the Special Assistant on Entertainment and Tourism to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has stirred controversy with a social media comment mocking Northerners.

The exchange occurred on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) after a user, @flexiblenancy, posted a derogatory remark about Yoruba people. In her tweet, she wrote:

“Yoruba people are shameless and ignorant, see people wey dey shit inside nylon… una get mouth to even call other e-diot, dirty people with dirty mind.”

Responding to the post, Seyi Law fired back with an inflammatory comment that many have described as offensive. He wrote:

“Coming from a people who sleep with cows and drink from the latrine.”

The comment has drawn widespread criticism on social media, with many users condemning it as insensitive and divisive.

Critics argue that such statements are unbecoming of a public office holder and could fuel ethnic tensions in the country.

Seyi Law, a popular comedian turned public servant, has not yet issued a statement addressing the backlash. Governor Aiyedatiwa’s office has also remained silent on the issue as of the time of this report.
