“Sensible people are not on social media,” Frederick Leonard laments

Nollywood actor and producer Frederick Leonard has stirred conversations online with his recent comments criticizing the growing toxicity on social media platforms.

Taking to his Instagram page, the award-winning actor shared an experience that led him to believe that sensible discourse is becoming increasingly rare online.

Leonard narrated how he came across a post where someone shared a personal opinion on a topical issue. Curious, he scrolled through the comment section but was quickly disappointed by the nature of responses.

According to him, one comment in particular stood out—negatively. A lady, who disagreed with the poster’s opinion, began her response with an insult, referring to the person as “an aging fool.”

“Her submission started with an insult before she even bothered to make her point,” Leonard said.

He further revealed that upon checking the lady’s profile, he discovered she was one of his followers. Displeased by her approach to public engagement, he promptly blocked her.

The actor didn’t hold back in his conclusion:
“I have come to the conclusion that those who actually have sense are not in the comment section. People who have sense are not on social media,” he declared.
