Rivers APC Dismisses Allegations Of Plot To Unseat President Tinubu

…Describes Claims As “Tales By Moonlight”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State led by Emeka Beke has issued a strongly-worded statement dismissing allegations made by Chibuike Ikenga, the publicity Secretary of the party led by Tony Okocha, claiming that former Governor Rotimi Amaechi is working with Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to unseat President Bola Tinubu.

The APC in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Darlington Nwauju, described the allegations as “another tale by moonlight concocted by morons” and stated that Ikenga is an impostor who lacks the locus to speak on behalf of the party in Rivers State.

According to Nwauju, Ikenga’s caretaker committee was sacked by a competent court in Port Harcourt on August 12, 2024, and he was ordered to stop parading himself as an officer of the party.

He argued that Justice Godswill Obomanu voided the congresses conducted by Ikenga and others on December 20, 2024.

Nwauju accused Ikenga of being a political jobber who has used blackmail to gain unmerited government appointments and patronages.

The party demanded evidence to substantiate Ikenga’s claims, challenging him to provide audio or video evidence, including those created through artificial intelligence.

“We demand evidences as our party and state cannot continue to suffer from the consequences of such fabrications by desperadoes who are suffering terrible integrity quotient,” the statement read.

The APC also highlighted Ikenga’s questionable leadership style, including his role in leading the party to poor outings in Ikwerre LGA and his eventual abandonment of his position as Leader of APC in Ikwerre LGA to openly embrace the current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, as his leader and boss.

“It is an open secret that Chibuike Ikenga was campaigning against our House of Assembly and House of Representatives candidates while claiming to be interested in working for our guber candidate alone,” the statement alleged. “Alas, the sole purpose for sticking around our 2023 Guber candidate was to sell party campaign strategies to the opposition!”

The party emphasized that it will no longer tolerate fabrications and lies from desperate individuals and demanded that Mr. Ikenga provide evidence to support his claims.

“We are aware that this latest tales by moonlight is not only malicious but intended at damaging the reputation of the former Governor while attempting to put a wedge in the relationship between Governor Fubara and Mr. President,” the statement read. “No matter how fast such lies travel, the truth must catch up with it.”
