Nigeria’s inflation drops to 24,48%

The National Bureau of Statistics says Nigeria’s headline inflation dropped to 24.48 per cent in January 2025 following the rebasing of the Consumer Price Index.

Making this disclosure on Tuesday, in Abuja, was the Statistician General, Prince Adeyemi Adeniran. This was at the launch of the rebased CPI report.

He said that the inflation rate for January decreased from the 34.80 per cent recorded in December 2024.

Adeniran also said that the food inflation was 26.08 per cent year on year for January 2025 while it was 39.84 in December, 2024.

He said he rebased CPI was a reflection of the current inflationary pressures in the country.
