The state chapter of the party, last week kicked against the nomination of a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Victor Akinjo, who was also the PDP candidate for the House of Representatives election in the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in February.
Akinjo was replaced by a former member of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Otito Atikase.
Expressing delight over the replacement of Akinjo, the APC state Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, described the President as an uncommon leader who is sensitive to people’s yearnings and core interests.
The party charged Atikase to always put in mind the interests of the Sunshine State while carrying out his activities on the NDDC board, saying, “You are expected to further contribute to the development of APC, particularly in Ondo State”.
Adetimehin, who wished the Ondo State representative and the entire governing board of the NDDC a productive tenure, said APC in the state was happy over the development.
The state APC had rejected the nomination of Akinjo, faulting the Presidency for nominating a member of the opposition party, who allegedly worked against Tinubu in the state during the last presidential election.
However, the presidency made a U-turn and removed Akinjo, replacing him with Atikase.
PUNCH reports that Tinubu approved the immediate replacement of the representatives of Ondo and Cross River states on the board of the NDDC.
Meanwhile, no official reason was given as to why Atikase’s name was dropped.
