LOTUS BANK WINS LEADERSHIP BANK OF THE YEAR AWARD

LOTUS Bank Limited, Nigeria’s dynamic Non-Interest Bank (NIB), won LEADERSHIP Bank of the Year 2022 award at the just concluded 14th LEADERSHIP Conference and Awards held recently at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The annual event organized by LEADERSHIP Newspapers, has over the years become a barometer for measuring excellence in both private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy, The LEADERSHIP award has continued to provide one of Nigeria’s most reputable fora to publicly acknowledge and inspire talents and achievements in all walks of life.

The organizers in their statement noted that “LOTUS Bank won the LEADERHIP Bank of the Year 2022 for its drive and impact in improving financial inclusion in Nigeria, boosting non-oil export earnings of the country, and recognizing its efforts towards economic growth and pursuit of ethical banking in less than two years since it obtained its banking licence”.

Receiving the award on behalf of the bank, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mrs. Kafilat Araoye said that the award came as a surprise to her and the bank, saying, “we were just doing what we can to ensure that Nigeria achieves financial inclusion and to help businesses, particularly exporters, in such a way that the country would be able to generate the needed foreign exchange.”

She said, “One of the purposes of setting up LOTUS Bank is to add value to the society. What we have done most since inception is to go to places where people don’t normally go to and try to educate them on why they should have a bank account.

People should be financially included, we should finance them, we should try to increase our agricultural output and our export to reduce pressure on our foreign exchange. We did not know that the things we were doing were being noticed and we appreciate the honour that is being bestowed on us,” she added.
Mrs. Araoye further said, “LOTUS Bank is poised to continue to deliver superior and innovative non-interest banking financial products and services to diverse customer segments in line with its principles and ethical values”
She also commended the LEADERSHIP award organizers saying the media group has been able to set itself on a high pedestal of professionalism in journalism in Nigeria.

LOTUS Bank is a dynamic Non-Interest Bank (NIB) and has become the choice of many at the grassroots since opening to customers on 7th July 2021. It has within a short period grown its branch network to over 30 locations which include digital centers and plans to establish more in the coming months.
