JUST IN: Court Adjourns Phillip Shaibu’s Suit Challenging Impeachment As Edo Deputy Governor To June 28

The hearing was initially set for Monday, June 3 but was postponed due to a labour strike and the absence of some defendants in court.

Shaibu’s suit seeks to declare his impeachment unlawful, illegal, unconstitutional, null and void. The court also granted the plea for the Speaker and new Deputy Governor to be joined as defendants.

The Judge, Justice James Kolawole Omotoso, warned against further delays and ordered that any objections must be raised along with the substantive matter.
