Erling Haaland hit his first hat-trick this season as Manchester City demolished Ipswich 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
This is the 10th hat-trick he has scored for City.
Ipswich shocked the huge crowd at the Etihad when they opened scoring seven minutes into the game. Sammie Szmodics broke through before collecting a brilliant pass and producing a precise strike to beat the goalkeeper.
City responded five minutes later from the penalty spot. Haaland won the battle of wills and sent an unstoppable penalty past Arijanet Muric into the bottom left corner.
City made it 2-1 in the 14th minute from a stunning goal by Kevin De Bruyne who produced a perfect low drive into the middle of the goal.
Haaland got his second goal two minutes later to give City a 3-1 lead. De Bruyne fed the ball through to Haaland, who picked up the pass inside the box and quickly sent it into the bottom left corner.
In the 29th minute, De Bruyne tried his luck with a hammer shot from long range, but his effort only rattled the crossbar.
The gangling striker got his hat-trick one minute to the end of the match after the ball rebounded and arrived at his feet just outside the box. He fired a great shot into the bottom right corner. His attempt was beyond the reach of Arijanet Muric.
