ECOSEA 2022 Holds Nov 2, As Sustainability Professionals Set to Dissect Environmental Sustainability Issues

Brand Communicator, a leading brand and marketing publication, and Impact Reports Africa, a fast-rising CSR, and Sustainability platform have concluded plans to host the maiden edition of the Environmental Sustainability Conference, Expo, and Awards (ECOSEA), scheduled to hold on November 2 at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The event with the theme: “Only One Earth: Building A Safer Environment”, is curated as a convergence of stakeholders in environmental sustainability in both the public and private sectors, as well as development agencies to develop a blueprint of solutions tailored to address some of the challenges peculiar to Africa, with emphasis on Nigeria.

Basically, ECOSEA  2022 is a one-day event; with three segments: conference, Expo and awards. The conference brings together sustainability professionals to proffer solutions to the challenges facing the sector. For the awards, sustainability professionals and organisations would be recognised for their giant strides and contributions to environmental sustainability in the country. The Expo is designed to showcase the latest innovative eco-friendly products and initiatives in the private and public sectors.

The event will be a unique and exciting gathering for the sustainability world as the Ministry of Water Resources, Engineer Suleiman H. Adamu, alongside Professor Desmond Majekodunmi, Chairman,Lekki Urban Forest and Animal Shelter Initiative will be speaking on the theme of the event. Other renowned sustainability professionals will also be speaking on the subthemes: Net Zero Emissions, the Journey to 2060; Evaluating the Role of Communication in Environmental Sustainability; and Smart Waste Management for Safer Cities.

According to the organiser, the event is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations which include: goals number 7-Affordable and Clean Energy; 11-Sustainable Cities and Communities; 12-Responsible Consumption and Production; 13-Climate Action; 14-Life Below Water; 15-Life on Land, among others. Interested participant can register for free to attend at www.ecosea.africa

The Convener of ECOSEA, Joshua Ajayi revealed that “ECOSEA was created as a premium convergence point for stakeholders in environmental sustainability in both the public and private sectors, as well as development agencies to meet yearly to develop vital solutions tailored at addressing some of the challenges peculiar to Africa, with special emphasis on Nigeria.  The theme of this maiden edition is in line with this year’s World Environment Day global campaign- #OnlyOneEarth.”

He added that the outcome of the conference would help promote the actualisation of environment-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and assist in the formulation of policies that will enhance their realisation in the country.

At the event, we will also be recognising and celebrating champions of environmental sustainability in the country, while also positioning it as a tool of inspiration for others,” he added.
