DSS releases ex-CBN deputy gov, Mailafia, after six-hour grill

A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Obadiah Mailafia has regained freedom after six- hour grill by Department of State Security (DSS) Jos office. Mailafiya, on Wednesday, honoured the invitation of the Service after he alleged a northern governor is commander of Boko Haram sect.

Mailafiya arrived the Jos, Plateau State Office of the Service at about 12noon. Mailafiya, the 2019 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was at the DSS office with his lawyers, led by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Pius Akuba.

He was barred from speaking to journalists outside the premises.

To prevent this, when he was smuggled out through the back doors.

His wife, family members and friends came to demonstrate solidarity with him at the DSS office in Jos.
