The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja jurisdiction has declared its readiness to entertain the alleged forgery case by the eight aggrieved members of the Labour Party accusing the party’s suspended National chairman, Julius Abure, of forgery.

This was mentioned on Friday by Justice Muazu Hamza while ruling on the preliminary objection filed by Abure challenging his suspension.

The court ruled that it had the jurisdiction to hear the matter, and the claimants were right to have brought the matter by originating summons and adjourned till 17th May for hearing in the substantive suit.

Remember that the claimants accused Abure of forging court documents, including receipts and the FCT High Court seal, which they allegedly used to replace Labour Party candidates in the 2023 general elections.

On April 5, 2023, the court issued an interim order prohibiting the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, the National Secretary, Farouk Ibrahim, and two others from acting as National Officers of the party.
