Buni Orders Distribution Of Diesel To Public Boreholes As Water Scarcity Hits Damaturu

it’s was gathered that residents have been battling with water scarcity due to the destruction of a 330KVA electricity line by some unknown vandals.

The Yobe State Police Command in February 2024, disclosed that suspected Boko Haram rebels demolished two 330 KVA power transmission towers in the state, leaving Borno and Yobe communities in total darkness.

The governor in a press statement issued in Damaturu by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, stated that he was doing all he could to alleviate the suffering of the residents.

He stated that there is enough diesel for distribution to enable the powering of all boreholes in the affected areas, promising that the problem would be resolved immediately.
