Super Eagles striker and KRC Genk forward, Tolu Arokodare, has emerged the winner of the prestigious 2024/25 Ebony Shoe Award in Belgium.
The award is one presented annually to the best African player in Belgium.
The award came on Monday after the 24-year-old had an outstanding season in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. He scored 20 goals, and was the second-highest scorer in the competition.
Arokodare is the seventh Nigerian to win the award. The last Nigerian to have won it was Paul Onuachu who gotit in 2021.
Other Nigerian recipients of the Ebony Shoe include Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Godwin Opara, and Celestine Babayaro.
The Nigerian was instrumental to Genk’s being at the top of the table in the regular 2024/25 season.
