Adeleke wants stronger ties with Glo, others

Governor of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has advised Globacom and other telecoms companies to strengthen ties with the states, which he describes as subnational entities  where the company’s market lies.

The Governor  who made the remarks when he received a Globacom team in his office in Osogbo, also paid glowing tribute to Dr Mike Adenuga, Jr.,  the company’s Chairman, for his belief in Nigeria.

According to him, “Even though the regulatory body is national, your market base remains the states and the local governments. You must deliberately prioritize partnership with the state government”.

Speaking further, Governor Adeleke said, “The telecom community must understand that giving full support to the states in terms of payment of right taxes and corporate social responsibility is an investment in your market. The more robust the state governments are, the more buoyant your market will be”.

On the Chairman of Globacom, Dr Mike Adenuga, Governor Adeleke described him as a “great Nigerian whose impact on the Nigerian and the African economy cannot be quantified”.

He  expressed the readiness of Osun State Government for business partnership with Globacom. Governor Adeleke remarked with an assurance to the team that the “partnership is already a reality. We just need to work out the details”.

In his Speech, the leader of the Glo Public Sector team,  Mr. Niyi Odejobi assured the Governor of Globacom’s support in the growth and development of Osun state.

He explained that the company is ready deploy series of telecom infrastructure to promote governance and businesses in Osun state.
