A Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted the permission for the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to travel out of Abuja.
But the court ruled that he cannot travel out of the country.
The court gave this ruling in an application for variation of bail terms filed on behalf of Emefiele by his lawyer, , Mathew Bukka. A part of the initial bail terms was the barring of of the former CBN helmsman from travelling outside the FCT.
Emefiele who is standing trial on six counts bordering on procurement fraud, was released from Kuje Correctional Centre on December 23, 2023, 34 days after the judge granted him bail.
