Presidency: Obi responds to Atiku’s claim 90 percent Northerners not on social media, he can’t win

Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Monday responded to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar’s claim that 90 percent of Northerners are not on social media.

DAILY POST reports that Atiku had last week downplayed the possibility of Obi winning the 2023 presidential election.

Atiku said it would take a miracle for Obi to win the 2023 presidential election because 90 percent of Northerners are not on social media.

The former Vice President, who said this on Arise TV, stressed that Obi’s party has no structure at the grassroots level to ensure victory in 2023.

However, in an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today, Obi said he agreed with Atiku’s claims, adding that it is one of the problems he would solve after his miraculous emergence as Nigeria’s president.

Obi said, “I agreed with what he said. It is one of the problems we are going to solve after my miraculous emergence.

“To deal with the issue of educating those 90 percent that are not on social media.

“We need to educate them, we need to ensure that we equip them because the population he mentioned is actually the timid population we need. When I said that the north, the vast north is our next oil, this is the population I need to turn that asset into production.

“They are the assets I need for the factories. Processing factories are going to be located in Kaduna and Kano to produce those agricultural products and process them for export, yes, we will deal with it, and I can assure you that we are not just on social media.

“People are also listening to us. They know we have something to offer, and I am sure that is what he wants to do as well. These are the people we need to educate and help.”
