As the December 18 local government election in Abia draws closer, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected candidates to represent it in the 17 local government areas in the state.

In a statement signed by Rt. Hon. Allwell Asiforo Okere, the Chairman of PDP in the state, the emergence of the candidates follows a successful primary election conducted on Thursday, 12th November, 2020.

He said, “Following the successful primary elections conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, 12th November, 2020, to democratically decide the candidates of the party for the forthcoming December LGA Chairmanship election, candidates of the party have emerged as follows:

“Aba North-Prince Chimehilaura Ikonne ,Aba South- Honorable Clinton Ebere ,Arochukwu- Prince Dan Kalu , Bende-Emmanuel O. N. Onwuchekwa , Ikwuano-Mpamugo Stephen Abochi , Isiala Ngwa North-Ochulor Chinwendu Victor , Isiala Ngwa South-Ikechi Anyatonwu , Isuikwuato-Agbeze Chimaobi Obingwa-Michael Ibe Nwoke , Ohafia-Dr Ukiwe Okoroafor. “

Others include Osisioma-Christian Kamalu N. , Ugwunagbo-Mrs Nnata Chinasaokwu Joy ,Ukwa East-Hon. Chuks Wabara , Ukwa West-Chief Okechukwu Kanu ,Umuahia North-Njikonye Joseph Ukochukwu ,Umuahia South-Humphrey Chukwudi Benson , Umunneochi-Ifeanyi Madu.
