Dogara wants to assassinate me, kidnap my family members, Jibrin cries out

Abdulmumin Jibrin

The embattled ex-Chairman of the Appropriation Committee of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin has accused the Speaker Yakubu Dogara of a planned assassination and kidnap of his family members.

He also emphasised that he would not return to Nigeria unless his safety his guaranteed as the Speaker is using some honorable members in the House to carry out the assassination plot against him.

Jibrin added in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja revealed that He went out of Nigeria to take the campaign of corruption in the House of Representatives to the international stage by reaching out to foreign governments, parliaments, media, civil society groups and Nigerians in Diaspora to press for the arrest  and prosecution of the principal officers involved in the budget padding saga.

He also blamed President Muhammadu Buhari’s silence on the Budget padding corruption, saying it is not “sending the right message to Nigerians and international community”.

Meanwhile, a statement was released yesterday by a member of the House, Hon. Herman Hembe said Jibrin fled to London because the anti-graft agencies were closing in on him on his past deeds.

He said: “My attention has been drawn to a statement issued by the suspended member Abdulmumin Jibrin who has fled to United Kingdom.

“Jibrin’s allegation that his life is under threat is laughable and foolish. I understand that the anti-graft agencies are closing in on him with their investigation into his past deeds.

“He might have got the hint of his possible and prosecution and decided to flee while raising false alarm.

“May I remind him that no matter where he goes justice will surely catch up with him as there is no hiding place for criminals in our today’s world.”
