3rd Mainland Bridge Upgrade: Popular Prophet Lauds Developments

The recent rehabilitation and upgrade of the 3rd Mainland Bridge, has been commended by popular Lagos cleric,Prophet Israel Oladele Genesis.

He gave the commendation at the international headquarters of his church,Genesis Global international situated at Duro Ishola street, off Dalemo Alakuko area of Lagos State on Friday 4th of April 2024. While addressing newsmen through his media aide, Oluwaseun Fabiyi, the mercurial seer and global televangelist praised the collaborative efforts of the Federal Government and Lagos State Nigeria,in giving the bridge a facelift and reinforcements.

It would be recalled that, the Federal Government and the Lagos State Governor,Baba Jide Sanwo-Olu, had announced the closure of the bridge at the beginning of this year, and had since commenced work. While explaining the timeline and workscope on the bridge, the Federal Government had said that,it was beyond just surface repairs. It disclosed that, the work would include replacing bad railings and installing of solar-powered lights and CCTV cameras.

Driving through the 3rd Mainland Bridge shortly after it was opened for vehicle and traffic operations on Thursday 4th of April, Prophet Oladele gave a ‘thumb-up’ for government’s prompt response and the successful rehabilitation and upgrade of the bridge.

Prophet Israel Oladele Genesis, who is an ardent supporter of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu joined the general masses during the last general election,to mobilize supports from his congregants and people within his community,in order to vote en masse for the emergence of Tinubu’s administration and Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu’s reelection.

While declaring his satisfaction with the work done, Prophet Oladele described the project,as another achievement aimed at moving the economy of the state forward and geared towards making life more comfortable for the people. He noted that the impact of the bridge is immeasurable, considering the stretch of kilometres it covers and the areas of Lagos it connects.

He therefore lauded the federal government and Lagos State Governor, for heavily investing in infrastructural developments across the country/state.

In his words, the well-loved prophet said “I am delighted to witness this epoch-making development. I am more than elated,to see another landmark achievement of President Tinubu and our dear Governor Sanwo-Olu in this state.

I can’t but really appreciate His Excellency and my Governor, for not relenting in their efforts at investing in infrastructural development, targeting the economy of the state.

Apart from this, he has done a lot in the past and I am sure this will not be the last.

So, he must be commended for completing this laudable third mainland bridge repairs and upgrades!

Now, apart from the fact that there will be less traffic around the axis, road users will have a pleasant experience driving on the bridge.

I believe in the government of President Tinubu and governor Sanwo-Olu. While I continue to pray for both to excel in all the projects they have promised to execute for the good people of Nigerians/Lagosians, I enjoin all and sundary,to support and pray everyday for this administration to succeed”

He however appealed to motorists not to overspeed on the road, to avoid accident;as he confirms that the road is smooth and good for driving.

The 3rd Mainland bridge, is also known as Ibrahim Babangida Boulevard. It is 11.8km long, and it is the most popular and the longest among the three bridges that connect Lagos Island and the Mainland.

Until 1996,the 3rd Mainland Bridge prides itself as the longest in Africa, before ‘6th October Bridge’ was completed in Cairo, Egypt.
