An explosion has rocked Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to those in the ancient city, the explosion occurred at about 7pm, with the sound travelling very far.
Dominos in the same area was also badly affected.
The University College Hospital also had some windows and doors shattered.
Private residences were not spared.
As at press time, the cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained both officially and unofficially.
While some said it was from a gas filling station, others said it was a bomb.
When contacted, the Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dotun Oyelade, told The Eagle Online that the government had set machinery in motion to get to the root of the explosion.
Oyelade told News Correspondent to give him about 30 minutes to one hour to revert.
